On May 18, Moscow will host the citywide cultural event “Night at the Museum” for the thirteenth time, which will cover city museums, theaters, galleries, art centers and art schools.

This year, under the slogan “Live in the Museum,” the event will for the first time last all night until the morning and will help to take a fresh look at the space of museums and their collections. More than 300 city cultural venues will take part in the citywide program, each of which is preparing exhibitions, lectures, excursions, performances and concerts Special program“Nights at the Museum 2019” will become an experimental platform for interaction between museums and various creative communities. Among the collaborations of cultural institutions and opinion leaders are a two-day marathon of artists “living in” museum spaces “Create in the Museum”, audio performances “Listen in the Museum”, the film program “Look in the Museum”, thematic routes from famous cultural leaders “Walk in the Museum”, historical project“Learn in the Museum”, multi-genre program “Live in the Museum” and dedicated to the topic inclusiveness project “Feel in the Museum”.

Moscow City Museum

The central platform of the event will be the Museum of Moscow, where from late evening to 6 am the multi-genre storytelling “Live in the Museum” will take place - musicians, actors, doctors, journalists, rescuers, pilots, bankers, bartenders, nurses, drivers will tell their stories about Moscow in several genres : music, theater, cinema, motivational speech.

The second building of the Museum of Moscow will host the premiere of the play “Marathon of Stories” created specifically for “Night at the Museum,” dedicated to the leading theater directors of today’s Moscow. Viewers will see Marina Brusnikina, Yuri Kvyatkovsky, Philip Grigoryan, Dmitry Krymov, Andrei Stadnikov, Viktor Ryzhakov performed by actors from Dmitry Brusnikin's workshop.

The Moscow Zoo has prepared a separate program for the “Night at the Museum” event dedicated to its 155th anniversary. The events will start at 18:00 and last until 22:00. Thus, children and their parents will be able to attend the lecture “Animals - Heroes of Fairy Tales”, which will be held in the children's lecture hall. Entry to the events is free. Please note that some events require registration on the promotion website in advance.
