Strength of mind -
This is one of the important qualities of a person, making him strong not physically, but morally. Strength of spirit helps to cope with various life difficulties. It manifests itself in perseverance and faith in a better future. I will prove my point with two examples.

Let's turn to the text C.T. Aitmatova. It tells about a woman, the mother of a little boy, who managed to cope with a difficult test of fate - the death of her husband in the war. In addition, she found the strength to continue life, raise her child and even show him what a hero his father was. This testifies to the extraordinary fortitude of the woman’s spirit.

Let us recall another work of art - “The Tale of a Real Man” by B. Polevoy, the main character of which is the pilot Alexei Meresyev. During the Great Patriotic War, his plane was shot down by the Nazis. Fortunately, Meresyev remained alive, but due to frostbite, both legs were amputated. However, despite difficult rehabilitation, he learned to walk on prosthetics, and subsequently took the helm again. This suggests that Meresyev has fortitude.

Thus, fortitude is the most important quality of a person, helping to overcome difficult life circumstances. (168 words)

Friendship– close relationships based on mutual trust, affection and common interests. Friends are people who can share your grief and success, and forgive you if you stumble.

An example of true friendship can be foundin the text by Rosa Gosman . Olga was able to forgive Lena and maintain friendship with her for many years. She did not go into open conflict to expose Lena and her betrayal. She relied on Lena's conscience, which realized that she had acted wrongly towards her friend. Lena's hypocrisy almost destroyed their friendship with Olga, but she understood everything in time, corrected herself and maintained her friendship with Olga.

The second example of true friendship can be found in the work A. Gaidar "Timur and his team". Zhenya’s father comes to Moscow for only three hours to see his daughters. But at this time Zhenya is at the dacha, she does not have time for the last train to Moscow. She believes that she will never see her father again. And then she meets Timur, to whom she tells everything. He, a thirteen-year-old boy, takes his uncle’s motorcycle without asking and takes Zhenya to Moscow. They barely have time to see Zhenya's father. But even for these few minutes spent in the company of her father, she is grateful to Timur. He supported her and helped her in a difficult situation, risking his uncle's trust and even his life, since it is quite unsafe to ride a motorcycle late at night. Zhenya and Timur are true friends who are ready to do anything for each other.

In conclusion, I would like to say that friendship is extremely necessary and important for a person. He needs real friends like food and air. The more friends a person has, the more confident he feels. After all, when you are surrounded by people on whom a person can rely, the calmer his life is.

Human inner world is a spiritual life in which ideas and images are formed. His view of the real world depends on a person’s inner world. Our spiritual life is built on emotions, feelings and worldview. The inner world is our subconscious, what makes us special; these are our feelings and emotions, our vision of the world around us.

Man is not only a microparticle of the Cosmos, but also a huge, very complex and in many ways still mysterious world. Interior or spiritual human world- this is also a boundless space of the most diverse sensations and feelings, emotions and moods, plans and ideas, concepts and images, fantasies and ideals, values and theories.

There is nothing more tender and vulnerable than the human soul. And great is the merit of the writers who have comprehended this soul, helping each of us to look into our inner world and understand ourselves.

Thus, the inner world of every person is a mystery, and in order to comprehend it, you need to take a closer look at what and how he does, try to feel what he feels.

Precious books - these are books that develop a person’s imagination and imagination, give him new impressions, transport him to another world and lay the foundations of morality. Every child should have such books, because the acuity of perception in childhood is very great and early impressions can then influence the rest of their lives. I will prove my words with specific examples.

Let us turn to the text by A.A. Likhanov, whose hero, a little boy, discovered the world of books. Reading books captivated and fascinated him; the characters came to life in his imagination. The boy not only tried on different roles of positive characters, but also composed corrected stories. I am sure that all this will not pass without a trace: the books read will become a guiding star in the boy’s future life.

For me, precious books are also books from childhood, for example, fairy tales by H.H. Andersen. They taught me kindness, friendship, devotion. These works not only expanded my understanding of the world around me, but also largely determined my ideals.

Thus, the role of precious books in the life of every person is very great.(154 words)

Artis a creative reflection of reality in artistic images. True art not only decorates our lives, but also awakens strong feelings in a person, opens up a new world, and helps to overcome life’s difficulties.

It was art that helped the heroine of V.P. Astafiev’s text, Lina, regain interest in life during a difficult period. Sad events painted her existence in dark tones. But, once in the Planetarium, she heard Tchaikovsky’s melody, which became a real anthem of life for her. Music made the girl forget about what was depressing her and look at life with completely different eyes.

He spoke about the impact of art on people in his story "Basket with fir cones" and K. Paustovsky. When Dagny heard the music of the great composer, she discovered a new, stunningly bright, colorful, inspiring world. Feelings and emotions that were previously unfamiliar to her stirred her entire soul and opened her eyes to an as yet unknown beauty. This music showed the girl not only the greatness of the world around her, but also the value of human life.

Thus, real art is a great force that can inspire a person and lift his weakened spirit. (161 words)

Diffidence - this is a lack of faith in yourself, your strengths, capabilities and abilities. Insecure people have low self-esteem and suffer from an inferiority complex. This trait is very disruptive in life. It is necessary to fight it, overcome it. I will prove my words with convincing examples.

Let's turn to t extu V.I. Odnoralova . Boy Vovka is not confident in himself. Arriving in the village, he was afraid of the goat Sivka. This happened in front of the village children. Vovka understands that his uncertainty will interfere with gaining authority among the local boys. Therefore, at the first opportunity, he tries to overcome his uncertainty: alone he goes into an abandoned dark building, where, according to rumors, the devil himself lives. The boy managed not only to overcome his fear, but also to gain respect from his new friends.

The heroine of the story also overcomes her insecurities A.S. Pushkin "The Captain's Daughter" Masha Mironova. At the beginning of the work we see a very timid, fearful girl. She blushes while talking and faints when a cannon fires. But the trials she endured strengthen Masha’s character. At the end of the story, the heroine is unrecognizable: she bravely and decisively fights to save her lover.

Thus, people who are insecure must make every effort to get rid of this quality. (184 words)

Kindnessis a caring, warm attitude towards another person. As a rule, it manifests itself in good deeds, the purpose of which is to make people's lives easier or better.
In A. Likhanov’s story, Aunt Grunya showed kindness. She, on her own initiative, helped the sick and wounded in the hospital (sentence 2). When her duty ended, she spent time next to Alexei, trying to relieve his pain (sentence 6). I consider the main character of the story to be a very kind and sensitive woman.
Kindness has a place not only in wartime, but also in peacetime.
I recently learned the story of a nine-year-old boy from Dallas. He has a rare disease and will soon lose his sight. This boy made a list of places he would like to see. Having learned that the family did not have money to fulfill the dream of their blinding son, kind people came to the aid of the parents. For example, one of the pilots took a boy to Alaska for free, where he saw the northern lights.
I believe that kindness is a wonderful quality that makes all people better.

Choice- this is a conscious decision-making from a set of proposed options, this is a preference for one option over another. A person is constantly faced with a situation of choice; it is a vital necessity. It is especially important to make the right decision when choosing a future profession, because a person’s future life depends on it. Sometimes making such a choice is very difficult. I will prove the truth of my words with specific examples.

The hero of the text E.V. Grishkov Tsa talks about how he chose his future profession. The boy had three options: to become an engineer, like his mother, a doctor, like his uncle and brother, or a cultural worker. He saw pros and cons in every profession. At this stage of life, the hero has not been able to make up his mind, but we understand that sooner or later he cannot avoid making this important decision.

But A.V. Suvorov did not have to think long about choosing his future profession. Already in childhood, despite poor health and lack of support from his father, he decided to become a military man. Therefore, he devoted the rest of his life to achieving his goal. The correctness of the path he chose is proven by the fact that the name of A. Suvorov entered the history of our country as the name of a legendary commander.

Thus, making a choice is half the battle; the main thing is not to make a mistake with your choice. (184 words)

Life values is what people consider important in their lives. These are their beliefs, principles, guidelines. This is a compass that determines not only a person’s fate, but relationships with others. Life values are formed in childhood; they lay the foundation for the rest of life. I will prove my words with specific examples.

Let us turn to the text of a modern Russian prose writer and screenwriter V. Tokarev Ouch. Her hero, Korolkov, watches his own sixteen-year-old daughter with grief. He notes that she grew up selfish because she does not take into account the opinion of her own mother and thinks only of herself. Korolkov understands that he himself is to blame for what is happening: it was necessary to form spiritual values in the child from early childhood. Therefore, the hero realizes responsibility for his own daughter and is ready to correct the mistakes he has made.

Another example that confirms my words can be cited from the comedy D.I. Fonvizin "Undergrown". Mrs. Prostakova, just like Korolkov, did not teach her son Mitrofan many important things: to respect his own father and elders, to work, to study. The main priorities in life for him are to eat well, sleep and be idle. He lacks moral guidelines, so it will be difficult for him to establish relationships with people around him.

Thus, life values must be formed in childhood, otherwise a person will face many difficulties in future life. (185 words)

Love - this is the most intimate feeling that one person can experience for another. This is a kind of attraction, desire, desire to be close to the object of your love. Love ennobles, makes you perceive the world around you differently, admire and admire the one you love, and even perform feats. I will prove my words with specific examples.

Let us turn to the text by Yu.Ya. Yakovlev, whose hero is in love with Nailya. He sincerely admires the girl. He is pleased to be nearby, looking at her. The boy was especially struck by Naila’s voice: it made his heart beat faster than usual and completely seized power over the hero. Communication with the girl gives the narrator great joy and pushes him to do crazy things.

Pyotr Grinev, the hero of A.S. Pushkin’s story “The Captain’s Daughter,” experiences no less sincere and deep feelings. For the sake of love for Masha Mironova, he is ready to do a lot: fight a duel, return to the enemy camp, deceive Pugachev, and even accept an unfair accusation of treason against military duty.

Thus, true love has an inexplicable power over a person, it makes him better and nobler. (152 words)

What's happened mother's love? This is the purest, sincerest and strongest love. This is free love. After all, a mother loves her child, not because he did something, but because it is her child.

I believe that mother's love is not only love for her child, but also for other children. This is explained by the fact that a mother’s heart is like a bottomless cup of tenderness, care, attention, in which there is room for love for all children. For evidence we turn to the text Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and also to life experience.

For example, in sentence 36, the narrator, who was “tormented by inhuman thirst,” calls a strange woman mom, asking her for water. The “stranger” woman gives the narrator water and supports him as if she were her own. This once again proves the generosity of all mothers, their boundless love.

I would also like to remember a poem I recently readD. Kedrina “Heart” . A Cossack, having cut his mother's chest with a blade, brings the girl a mother's heart as a gift. But on the porch he fell, and his mother’s heart fell out of her hands. But despite everything, the mother’s heart asked her son if he had hurt himself. This act of the “heart” shows the enormous power of mother’s love: she forgave him.

Thus, we have proven the enormous “size” of mothers’ hearts, in which there is a place not only for their own children, but also for other people’s children who need their maternal help. We realized that a mother's love is limitless.

Moral choice- this is a conscious decision made by a person, this is the answer to the question “What to do?”: pass by or help, deceive or tell the truth, succumb to temptation or resist. When making a moral choice, a person is guided by conscience, morality, and his own ideas about life. I will prove the truth of my words with specific examples.

One of the heroes of A.G. Aleksin’s text, Vanya Belov, in a critical situation made his moral choice: he took upon himself the blame of his friend, Senya Golubkin, who, out of fear of being left for the second year, stole several notebooks with a district dictation from the teachers’ room. Vanya fearlessly confessed to his crime in front of the director. He did this noble act because he wanted to help his friend move into seventh grade. Vanya acted according to the laws of friendship.

Pyotr Grinev, the hero of A.S. Pushkin’s story “The Captain’s Daughter,” also made his moral choice. When Petrusha lost a hundred rubles to officer Zurin in billiards, Savelich began to convince his pupil not to repay the debt to this swindler. Grinev himself understood that Zurin had fooled him, but still decided to give the money. He acted as his father taught him - according to the laws of honor.

Thus, a person very often finds himself in a situation of choice. And making a decision largely depends on his moral principles. (183 words)

Mutual assistanceis a moral quality that determines a person’s willingness to selflessly help another.

In Voronkova’s text, Vanya helped out the beekeeper’s son, not being afraid of bee stings (sentence 29). Although the other guys left, preferring an easier way out, the hero did not leave his friend in trouble, which is why his father praises him. Morality always commands respect.

In A. Dumas’s novel “The Three Musketeers,” the heroes constantly helped each other out. Their motto was: “One for all, and all for one!” This was the only way to build a strong friendship in such difficult circumstances for the country. This was the secret of their success. Let's turn to the text by E.E. Fonyakova, the heroine of which is a happy child, because she has everything for happiness in a child's understanding: a lot of interesting entertainment, the opportunity to dream, play pranks, caring parents. But this happy world turns out to be very fragile. It collapses in an instant when terrible news comes about the start of the war. And although the girl does not yet understand what a “real” war is, the feeling of happiness leaves her.

Let us also recall the hero of L. Andreev’s story “Petka in the Dacha”. Petka is a child from a poor family. He was sent as an apprentice to a hairdresser, where he performed the most difficult and dirty work. Such a life did not bring any joy to the child. The boy felt real happiness when his mother brought him to the dacha. There he rests, bathes, explores the ruins of an ancient palace, in a word, does everything that a child should do. But the happiness suddenly ends: the boy is ordered to return to his boring, exhausting duties. For Petka, this return is a real tragedy.

Thus, every child has the right to a happy life. (197 words)

Strength of spirit is courage, kindness, respect, and love, which a person retains within himself, no matter what. This, in my opinion, is human nature as it should be. This topic has been covered quite often in both literature and cinema; in addition, strong-willed people live among us.

Arguments from literature

  1. (49 words) The first work that came to mind, revealing the theme of the power of the human spirit, is “The Tale of a Real Man” by B. Polevoy. A story about an ordinary person, an ordinary Soviet soldier, who was able to overcome not only cold, hunger, inhuman pain, but also himself. Having lost his legs, Meresyev overcame despair and doubt, proving that he was capable of anything.
  2. (38 words) Alexander Tvardovsky in the poem “Vasily Terkin” describes a simple Russian guy, a soldier fighting for his country. Using the example of Tyorkin, the author shows the strength of spirit of the entire Russian people. For example, in the chapter “Crossing” the hero swims across an icy river under fire to carry out an order.
  3. (38 words) “Young Guard” by A. Fadeev is another work that tells about the strength of human character, love for the Motherland, principles and unbending will. Despite their young age, the Young Guards did not retreat either from their own fear or from the enemy.
  4. (54 words) A strong-willed person is not always visible at first sight. From his modesty and calmness one may get the feeling that we are facing, rather, a weak personality. The gloomy and silent hero of V. Bykov Sotnikov, in fact, is an example of courage, perseverance, devotion and, of course, strength of character. While undergoing torture, he does not surrender his comrades and does not agree to serve the enemy.
  5. (62 words) Pyotr Grinev, the main character of A. S. Pushkin’s work “The Captain’s Daughter,” can be called a strong-willed person. Grinev faced a difficult choice: on the one hand, service under the leadership of Pugachev, betrayal; on the other hand, death and loyalty to oneself and duty. To preserve his honor, the young man strained all his strength and chose execution over treason. Even having saved his life, he still risked it more than once in order to act according to his conscience.
  6. (44 words) A strong-willed and strong-willed man is the hero of Nikolai Leskov’s work “The Enchanted Wanderer.” The strength of the human spirit here is manifested in the ability to overcome life’s difficulties, not give up, forgive and admit one’s mistakes. Trying to atone for his sins, Flyagin becomes a recruit instead of the son of poor strangers and accomplishes a feat.
  7. (53 words) Compassion is one of the most important qualities of a strong person, according to M. Gorky. Strength of spirit is revealed, according to the writer, not only in firmness of character, but also in love for people, the ability to sacrifice oneself for others, and to bring light. This is the hero of the story “The Old Woman Izergil” - Danko, who led his people out of the deadly thicket at the cost of his life.
  8. (45 words) M. Yu. Lermontov describes a strong-willed person in his work “Mtsyri”. A persistent character helps the prisoner fight the circumstances in which he finds himself, the difficulties that stand in his way, and go towards his dream. The young man escapes from the monastery and gains short-term, but passionately desired freedom.
  9. (46 words) “Man can be destroyed, but he cannot be defeated.” This is what E. Hemingway’s story “The Old Man and the Sea” is about. External circumstances: age, lack of strength, condemnation are nothing compared to the inner strength of a person. Old man Santiago fought against the elements, despite pain and fatigue. Having lost his prey, he still remained the winner.
  10. (53 words) A. Dumas in the novel “The Count of Monte Cristo” shows the eternal struggle between good and evil; in reality there is a very thin line between them. It would seem that the main character, who takes revenge on his offenders and does not know how to forgive, is a negative character, but, having got out of the Chateau d'If, he remains generous and kind, helping those who deserve them - these are the qualities of a person with a strong spirit.
  11. Examples from life

    1. (46 words) There are many examples of strong-willed people in the sports environment. Sport builds character and teaches you to never give up. A striking example is the fate of the Soviet athlete, Olympic champion, Valery Brumel. Having received a serious injury incompatible with sports, he found the strength to return and achieve high results.
    2. (31 words) Hockey player Valery Kharlamov, whose story was shown in N. Lebedev’s film “Legend No. 17,” had a strong character. Going ahead, despite the pain, achieving the goal is the quality of a strong-willed person brought up by sports.
    3. (49 words) Strength of spirit is also manifested in the ability to enjoy life, no matter what. In the film by O. Nakash “1+1. "Untouchable" main characters help each other to reveal their best qualities, preferring not to go with the flow, but to overcome obstacles. A disabled person gains fullness of life, and a poor African American gets an incentive to develop and become better.
    4. (56 words) Strong-willed people are among us. This is confirmed by the romantic comedy “Amelie” by J. Jeunet. The main character is a girl with oddities, but with a strong character. She strives to help people, starting with her own father, ending with a complete stranger to her, a man who lived in her apartment before her. In this pursuit, she forgets about herself, sacrificing her desires for the sake of the happiness of others.
    5. (54 words) In Grigory Chukhrai’s film “The Ballad of a Soldier,” the main character is a young soldier who received leave to see his mother. Despite the goal - to see the person closest to him - Alyosha Skvortsov cannot pass by people in need of help. For example, he helps a disabled war veteran find family happiness. In this desire for active good, true strength of spirit is expressed.
    6. (45 words) An example of fortitude is Admiral Pyotr Stepanovich Nakhimov, who has not lost a single battle in his entire life. A man of exceptional willpower who sacrificed his own health for the sake of his country. Carrying out orders that seemed impossible, he never complained or grumbled about fate, but silently fulfilled his duty.

Nick not only gives motivational lectures and writes books, but also leads an active lifestyle: surfing, playing golf and football.
    9. (45 words) JK Rowling is a British writer who gave children all over the world faith in fairy tales and magic. On the path to success, J. Rowling had to face numerous obstacles: no one wanted to publish her novel. However, willpower allowed the woman to follow her dream and make it come true.
    10. (47 words) A person with a strong spirit does not necessarily have to accomplish feats or become famous. My friend is a strong-willed person. She is not afraid of difficulties, believes that they are necessary for character to be formed, tries to help people and animals if she sees that help is needed, does not remember the bad and sees only the good in people.
    11. Interesting? Save it on your wall!

Strength of spirit is one of the main qualities that makes a person strong not physically, but mentally. This concept consists of self-confidence, determination, perseverance, perseverance, inflexibility and faith in the best.

Strength of spirit helps a person find a way out of a difficult situation, look into the future with optimism, and overcome life's adversity. This is the quality of a person’s soul that makes him invincible, forces him to face dangers, take risks, fight even when everyone around him has given up, force himself to do something through “I can’t.”

In the text by C.T. Aitmatov, the main character watches a war film. In it, Russian soldiers bravely fight the Nazis and defend their Motherland. They did not run away from tanks, bullets and explosions, but continued to advance to save their country. When almost everyone died, the surviving soldier did not chicken out, did not run away, but walked forward with a grenade in his hands, not fearing death, because he had a strong spirit, he knew that this act could save the lives of innocent comrades, children, women.

People struggling with various ailments have enormous fortitude. They do not give up, despite the pain and suffering, they try to recover. Such people usually achieve heights in sports or science. They do not give up, but, on the contrary, do everything possible to return to ordinary life, hide their shortcomings, be like the ordinary people who surround them, so as not to evoke feelings of pity or disgust in others.

Strength of spirit allows a person not to give up in a difficult situation and endure everything, endure any adversity.

Strength of mind

Fortitude is an abstract concept that has hidden meaning. I think that fortitude is, firstly, determination, faith in yourself and your strengths; secondly, positive ambition, perseverance and resilience. It allows a person to believe in the best even in the most seemingly hopeless situations, to overcome difficulties and life's adversities.

Many people are accustomed to feeling sorry for themselves, but those who have truly encountered misfortune, for example, remaining disabled, find the vital strength to live on, their spirit strengthens, and they even enjoy life, adapting to it. It's hard not to admire such people. I recently watched a report by a journalist who, as an experiment, spent an entire day confined to a wheelchair with a public figure who was himself a person with disabilities. In fact, it is very difficult to be deprived of legs; even walking a few meters seems like overwhelming work. But such people do not give up, they try not to give up. The person participating in the experiment talked about his life, how he suddenly became disabled, how difficult it was to adapt, and how he became a public figure. This man prevailed over the circumstances, and even opened a sports club for the same disabled people, where they can train in various sports, sometimes they participate in the Paralympic Games. This is the power of the spirit!

A striking example of a demonstration of willpower are stories about people who survived the terrible war years. War changes people, creating conditions for strengthening the spirit. People fought for every breath, stood to the death, not afraid of anything or anyone - real heroes. Their fortitude was so strong that nothing could stop them. For example, the hero of “The Tale of a Real Man” flew with amputated legs, overcoming pain. It is this kind of fortitude that should be admired.

In conclusion, we can conclude that fortitude is the greatest quality of a person, which helps to overcome oneself and move forward towards the intended goal, no matter what.

(5) I remembered how I returned to Leningrad before the end of the war and did not recognize it: the streets seemed deserted and dead, not a single lamp was on, not a single window was lit; in place of lawns and flower beds there was black bare earth, divided into tiny crooked beds; last year's leaves scraped and rustled along the paths of dug up city gardens...

* Shim Eduard Yurievich (1930–2006) - Soviet writer, playwright, author of several collections of stories for children and adults.

Finished essay 9.3 “What is fortitude”:

Strength of spirit is one of the main qualities of a person, which makes him morally strong. Thanks to the strength of spirit, a person can overcome life’s difficulties and achieve his goals. Everyone needs this quality.

The text by Eduard Yuryevich Shim talks about the first post-war spring in Leningrad. The hero of the text, on his way home after a hard day at work at the factory, saw a bird cherry tree that bloomed and delighted everyone with its wonderful aroma. In sentences 33-37, he wonders how people managed to preserve this tree during the war, when during the terrible winter of the siege there was nothing to heat the stoves with. Thanks to their fortitude, these people were able to overcome all difficulties, and the bird cherry now brings joy to passers-by.

Speaking about fortitude, I immediately remember the work of Boris Polevoy “The Tale of a Real Man.” The hero of the story is pilot Alexey Meresyev. Due to a wound received during the Great Patriotic War, he lost both legs. But he did not lose heart! Alexey was able not only to recover physically, but also to fly again. We can only admire the strength of spirit this man possessed!

So, thanks to the strength of spirit, a person will be able to overcome any difficulty on his life’s path and will be able to achieve any intended goal.
