Sausages in mashed potatoes in a frying pan

Oven recipe

First, peel the potatoes, not forgetting to cut out the eyes. We wash it and start cooking it in salted water. To cook faster, you can cut it in half, so cooking will take about 15 minutes. As soon as the potatoes are ready, add all the liquid and thoroughly mash them into a puree and leave to cool.

After cooling, add the egg and butter, then knead the mass until smooth. Then add semolina, flour and salt. Knead the dough with your hands and divide it into parts, you will get about 12 pieces. We roll them out thinly on the table.

Meanwhile, cook the sausages in boiling water for about half a minute. Once finished, cool them and place them on potato dough cakes and make pies. Brush them with a mixture of egg and butter, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Place the sausages in the oven on a greased baking sheet. You need to bake at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes. Then we take it out and sprinkle it with cheese, grated on a medium grater, then put it in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Once the specified time has passed, you can serve it, but before that it is better to cool it a little.

Waffle option

First, thoroughly peel the potatoes and cut out the eyes. Next, we send it to boil in water, which we first salt. To make the potatoes cook faster, you can cut them in half. When ready, drain the water and use a masher to mash the potatoes into a puree.

Next, take a wafer, preferably square. You need to spread the puree evenly over the entire surface and leave it for a few minutes so that the waffle softens a little during this time, otherwise we will simply break it in the process. This should be done with all waffles.

After a few minutes, place the peeled sausage on the waffle, on the very edge, and wrap it so that the roll is tight. You can also add grated cheese, onions or spices there if you wish. Cut each roll into 4-5 circles.

Next, break the egg into a small deep plate, add salt and beat. You can add spices and milk.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and place our circles on it, previously greased with egg. Fry them until golden brown.

Well, that's all, bon appetit!

How to make mashed potatoes with sausage

First of all, we peel the potatoes and remove their eyes. We rinse it in cold water and transfer it to a saucepan.

To make the potatoes cook faster, you can cut them, but not very finely, into about 2-3 parts. After this you can cook it. As the water boils, add salt and spices to your taste. Cook until done, which you can check with a fork by piercing the potatoes - if ready, the fork will go in easily.

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain the water and mash with a masher until pureed. Pour milk on top and stir thoroughly until there are no lumps left. Next, taste and add salt or spices if necessary. Alternatively, you can use butter.

Then you can start on the sausages. They can be prepared in two ways - boiled or fried.

To cook, just rinse them under cold water and put them in a pan, then cook. They cook for about 5-10 minutes in boiling water, but it can be a little longer. After cooking, they should be peeled and served with puree, or they can be further fried to give a more interesting taste.

For frying, regardless of whether the sausages are already cooked or not, they should be peeled from the film and cut lengthwise into two or four pieces to make frying easier. We fry them in a hot frying pan with vegetable oil. Boiled ones are easy enough to fry, but raw ones can be thoroughly fried to make them tastier. Keep in mind that many sausages will stick to the pan if they are not turned or stirred. After frying, place in a separate bowl.

Serve with mashed potatoes, and you can chop herbs on top or even add sauce. The dish is ready. Bon appetit!

The readiness of the potatoes should be checked with a fork by piercing them. The finished potatoes will be soft.

You can use cheese with any sausage puree; it will give the dish a great taste; in addition, you can use cheese sauce during the meal, which will make it even more delicious.

The video shows how to quickly and easily cook sausages in mashed potatoes:

Sausages in mashed potatoes are a prime example of how you can make an original hearty dish from ordinary ingredients. The formed “pies” are brought to readiness by frying in a frying pan or baking in the oven. Including cooking the puree, it will take about 60 minutes to prepare.

To make the prepared pies a size convenient for frying (baking), you can use mini sausages or cut regular ones in half. It is advisable to use crumbly potatoes with a high starch content for mashing; it is easier to make a “dough” from it.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 0.5 kg;
  • sausages – 100 grams;
  • flour – 50 grams;
  • chicken egg - 1 piece;
  • vegetable oil - for frying;
  • breadcrumbs – 100 grams (optional);
  • salt - to taste.

Since nothing is added during cooking except salt, the remaining puree after wrapping the sausages can be used for its intended purpose.

Recipe for sausages and potatoes

1. Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them into pieces, and boil them in salted water.

2. Drain the liquid completely, grind the pieces into a puree so that there are no lumps left.

3. Cool the puree until it is warm enough to work with your hands (doesn’t bake into your fingers).

Attention! If the puree is cold, you won't be able to wrap the sausage in it.

Beat the egg in a cup, pour flour and breadcrumbs onto plates. The sausages can be lightly boiled (about 30 seconds in boiling water), but this is not necessary.

4. Wrap sausages in mashed potatoes. To do this, mash a handful of puree into a flat cake, put a sausage on top and carefully cover it with potato mixture. You can make both closed cutlets (covered on all sides) and open cutlets, in which pieces of sausage peek out from both sides.

There shouldn't be too much puree

5. Carefully roll the pieces in flour, moisten them in the egg, then roll them in breadcrumbs (or again in flour if there are no breadcrumbs).

6. Fry sausages in potato dough in a frying pan or deep fryer with vegetable oil until golden brown. Place the finished “pies” on paper napkins to remove excess oil.

Another option is to place the preparations on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. Drizzle the remaining eggs evenly over the top. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 200°C.

After frying in a frying pan without breadcrumbs

7. Ready-made sausages in potatoes can be served either hot or cold. This is the advantage of the dish.

Sausage in dough is probably the most popular dish in school and student canteens.

I suggest cooking sausages in potato dough in a frying pan, which will diversify your lunch or dinner. These sausages are easy to prepare, and they turn out filling and tasty.

Let's start by making mashed potatoes. To do this, peel the washed potatoes, rinse with water and cook in salted water until tender. Then drain the liquid and mash the potatoes into a puree.

Cool the puree until warm. Add flour and egg and mix. The result is a homogeneous, fairly dense mass that sticks a little to your hands and holds its shape. The amount of flour depends on what kind of potatoes you have: watery or not.

Divide the potato dough into equal pieces. Sprinkle the work surface a little with flour and flatten each piece into a flat, thin cake. Place a sausage in the middle (you can boil the sausages first) and connect the edges of the dough, forming a pie.

Roll the finished products in flour on all sides.

Place the sausages in potato dough in a frying pan with heated oil. Fry over low heat until browned. You can cover the pan with a lid.

Then place the sausages on a paper towel.

Sausages in potato dough are ready. Serve immediately with your favorite sauce or vegetable salad.

If you are bored with the usual serving of dishes, then you should pay attention to more original dishes. Sausage in a potato coat is an interesting dish. This dish is very easy to prepare, but at the same time looks appetizing. Note that it can be made for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
