DURING THE CLASSES

A story about the artist.

Sergey Alekseevich Grigoriev - People's Artist of Ukraine, was born in Lugansk (Donbass) in a large family of a railway worker.

He became widely known as the author of works on the theme of family and school. The best canvases of the artist dedicated to children. Among them are the paintings: "Discussion of the Deuce", "Fisherman", "First Words", "Young Naturalists". The painting "Goalkeeper" brought the artist well-deserved fame. The author was awarded the State Prize.

Conversation on the picture:

What time of year and day is depicted in the picture? How did you define this?

(Autumn. Castings have turned yellow and fall from the trees. They are scattered on the ground. The artist depicted a fine autumn day, probably noon, because the shadows from people and objects are short, straight. The sky is clear, you can feel that the sun is shining.)

Where does the action in the picture take place?

(The guys play on an empty playground behind the house, and not on a real football field: they "built" the gate, returning from school, out of briefcases, bags and berets.)

Who is the main protagonist of the picture?

(Goalkeeper Boy)

How did the artist portray the goalkeeper? Describe his pose, figure, facial expression, clothing.

(The goalkeeper is leaning on his knees, standing, bent over in a tense position, waiting for the ball, watching the game with concentration. You can see from his posture that the ball is far from the goal. But the goalkeeper is ready at any moment to join the game and defend his goal. The boy wants to be like on a real goalkeeper, he tries to imitate them even in clothes: he is wearing a dark sweater, short pants, big leather gloves on his hands, lowered socks on his feet, galoshes tied with a ribbon. It can be seen that the goalkeeper is a brave, fearless boy.)

Describe a little boy standing behind the goalkeeper.

(Behind the goalkeeper, a kid in a red ski suit stands with his hands behind his back and stuck out his stomach in an unperturbed position. He also considers himself a connoisseur of football, he wants to take part in the game, but he is not accepted yet).

How did the artist show the audience's interest in playing football? Who is particularly passionate about what is happening? Describe them.

(The eyes of all spectators are directed to the right, on the field, where there is a tense struggle for the ball. An adult fan who happened to be here by chance (he is not dressed for sitting on the boards in the yard: in an elegant embroidered shirt, order strips on the lapel of his jacket, a folder in his hand with papers, a hat on his head), completely captured by the spectacle of the game, and he himself will rush into battle. He is very keen on the game and a boy in a dark green ski suit with a red tie. He looks with his head stretched out and his mouth open. with a baby in her arms and a girl with a red bow on her head. Other girls - with a doll, in a red cap, in a hood - are more calmly watching what is happening, although they do not take their eyes off the game).

Who is indifferent to what is happening on the field?

(Baby, wrapped in a warm kerchief and a lop-eared dog curled up at her feet).

Why is the painting called the Goalkeeper?

(The goalkeeper is the main character of the picture. The artist showed a brave keen goalkeeper who evokes our sympathy).

What do you think the artist wanted to say with his painting, what is its main idea?

(Football is interesting to everyone.
Football is a favorite sport.
The fearless goalkeeper has a long history of his own goal.)

Unlike the writer, the artist depicts one specific moment in the picture. It is curious that S.A. Grigoriev did not depict the football match itself in his picture: by the tense posture of the goalkeeper, by the expression on the faces of the spectators, we can guess that the field is now an acute moment of the game. To reveal his intention, the artist uses such means of painting as color, lighting, composition.

Let's see how the picture is built. Where - in the foreground or in the background - depicted S.A. Grigoriev of the main character, the goalkeeper?

(The goalkeeper is shown in the foreground, almost in the center of the picture, separate from the other players on the team. He is clearly visible and immediately striking, attracts our attention)

Who is depicted in the background of the picture?

(Children and a young man, while they are located so that everything is clearly visible)

What do you see in the background?

(City, huge buildings, residential buildings)

Let's pay attention to the details in the picture (the gate made of briefcases, bags and hats, the tied knee and leather gloves of the goalkeeper, etc.), find out their role in revealing the artist's intention.

What colors and shades did the artist use to emphasize the cheerful nature of the event depicted in the picture?

(Warm colors and shades of yellow, light brown, red. The ground is light brown, the leaves are golden, orange on the bushes and on the field, the boards on which the fans sit are light yellow. The red suit is on the boy who stands behind the goalkeeper, a hat on a girl, an embroidery on a shirt of a man, a bow at a schoolgirl, ties. These colors and shades help to convey the intensity of the depicted action, delight our eyes, contribute to a cheerful, good mood.)

Do you like this painting?

(Yes, because everything is depicted on it as it happens in life. I would like to be on this field myself and play football.)

Vocabulary work... In order to prevent spelling errors, the spelling of words such as football, competition, match, leather gloves, jacket, sweater(pronounced firm [t]), the hood, in a light haze, the outlines of construction sites.

Fascinating match, football match, bend slightly, start the game, react quickly, take possession of the ball, attack the gate, cover the gate, fearless goalkeeper, without touching the ball with his hand, rubbing his bruised knee with his hand

Vocabulary and stylistic work.

1. Find the appropriate participial phrases.

1) The boy walked to the gate….
2) No one could, with such a sharpness as a player, dash off and ... just as unexpectedly slow down.
3) He powerfully accelerated and ... struck on the move.
4) ... sharply stretched his hand forward, indicating where he would hit

For reference:

Two steps before the ball, just before the kick; without losing the ball; slowing down and changing direction; without changing the rhythm of steps, not seed.

2. What are the participles that can be used to describe the posture and actions of those who play football. Make up phrases with them.

(Taking possession of the ball, throwing the ball, throwing the ball, scoring a goal, attacking the gate, attacking the gate, closing the gate, closing the gate, rushing to the gate, bending slightly, putting his foot back, rushing from the spot, starting a long run, starting the game, reacting quickly, braking instantly.)

Drawing up a plan for describing the picture.

First, let's name the main subtopics of the story, for example:

1) place and time of action;
2) athletes;
3) spectators;
4) the artist and his painting.

We emphasize the conventionality of the named sequence of description and the possibility of constructing the story differently, for example, it can start with a message about the artist, then describe the athletes, then the audience, at the end - the time, place of action, etc.

After that, we propose to turn the description scheme into a plan, that is, to concretize each point of the scheme, to make it more meaningful. As a result of such work, students write (independently) a plan for describing the picture, for example:

Option 1

1) Behind the house on a fine autumn day.
2) Fearless goalkeeper and his assistant.
3) Spectators “get sick” in different ways.
4) Artist's skill: successful composition, expressive details, soft coloring of the picture.

Option 2

1) Theme and main idea of the picture.
2) Description of the painting by S.A. Grigorieva “Goalkeeper”:

a) on a vacant lot on a fine autumn day;
b) a fearless goalkeeper;
c) a boy in a red suit;
d) fans and spectators.

3) Features of the composition of the picture.
4) The role of details in the picture.
5) Color of the picture.
6) My attitude is in the picture.

The history of creation and the fate of the painting

Grigoriev said that his "quest in the field of genre painting remained empirical for a long time", that at first he "wrote everything from life and pulled a lot of unnecessary things into the picture", but then he "moved on to the director's decision." Researchers of the artist's work wrote that Grigoriev was truly the first to succeed in such a decision (to unite all the characters in a single action, subordinate to the idea of the artist-director) in the film "Goalkeeper". It is so thought out, "staged" that it is perceived as a sketch of what was directly seen in life. In fact, this manifested the mature skill of a genre painter, each detail of the canvas has its own symbolic meaning, each character is convincing in its own way. However, despite the merits noted by critics, in Soviet times this picture was in the shadow of two other paintings by the artist - "Admission to the Komsomol" (the same 1949) and "Discussion of the Deuce" (1950).

The painting "Goalkeeper" was created in 1949. At this time, Grigoriev was already a professor, head of the department of drawing. The artist's appeal to children's themes was not accidental or the first (he first drew attention to his works with the painting "Children on the Beach" in 1937). Grigoriev appreciated spontaneity in children's images, their naturalness, liveliness of reactions. The painting technique is oil painting on canvas. The size is 100 by 172 centimeters. The painting (together with another painting by Grigoriev "Admission to the Komsomol", 1949) was awarded the Stalin Prize of the II degree for 1950. At the same time, the canvas was acquired by the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the collection of which it is now.

The plot and features of its interpretation

The boy's right knee is bandaged - a sign of loyalty to his team, readiness to sacrifice his health for her sake. According to O'Mahoney, Grigoriev relied on the metaphor characteristic of the culture and ideology of the pre-war years, the "goalkeeper-border guard", the valiant defender of the borders of the Motherland from insidious and cruel enemies. However, the picture was written in 1949 and the metaphor acquires a number of additional meanings. Depicted is a vacant lot on the outskirts of a city or village (both outside the city and in the immediate vicinity of it, such a "line of defense", according to the British art critic, is a reference to both capitals, Moscow and Leningrad, at the very approaches to which during the war there was a front line ). The background of the picture tells about the restoration of the country - scaffolding is visible on two buildings; near, to the right, there is an area where excavation work is underway, spectators are sitting on boards, which also serves as a hint that the match is taking place on a construction site.

The audience, with one exception, are children. They look, like the goalkeeper, behind the picture frame, at the opponent preparing to strike. Some of the child spectators of the match are wearing sportswear; one boy stands behind the goalkeeper and seems to be assisting him. "Gate" - school bags, laid on the ground on either side of the goalkeeper. According to O'Mahoney, this indicates an improvised rather than planned nature of the event itself. Among the children, Sergei Grigoriev portrayed two girls. O'Mahoney believes that they occupy a subordinate position in the picture. One of the girls (she is wearing sweatpants, the same as those of boys) is babysitting a doll, which speaks of her more as a future mother than an athlete; the second, wearing a school uniform, stands behind the other children.

There is only one adult among the children. The pose in which this person is depicted by the artist immediately attracts the viewer's attention: he sits with his left foot forward in the direction of an invisible opponent, resting his hand on his knee. This gesture repeats the position of the goalkeeper's hands, in turn it is duplicated by the little boy who sits to the left of the man. Judging by his clothes, the man is not a coach; in his right hand a folder and documents indicate that this is a responsible employee of a certain state institution. On the lapel of his jacket there are order strips and ribbons showing that he is a participant in the past war. In the film, he plays, according to O'Mahoney, the role of a mentor, passing on the experience of his generation to children.

The painting "Goalkeeper" by Grigoriev was painted back in 1949. But it is interesting to watch it even now, because it is dedicated to the never-outdated game - football.

The painting depicts the match and the spectators watching it. The picture attracts attention with its ease. It seems that the guys have just come running from school to the vacant lot, made a gate from the briefcases and started the game. A curious feature of the picture is that it does not depict field players. We see only one of them, the goalkeeper. It is with his description, as I think, that it is necessary to begin the description of the painting "Goalkeeper" by Grigoriev.

This is a boy of about twelve or thirteen years old. He stands half bent over, waiting for the ball. His face expresses seriousness, he is very passionate about the game. It can be seen that the boy is an experienced goalkeeper. He has a confident posture and strong, sinewy legs. Even with his clothes, he wants to be like real football players. He is wearing shorts (and judging by the clothes of the spectators, it is already cool autumn in the yard), and gloves are on his hands. They help the goalkeeper in the game. He has a bandage on his leg - probably, he was unlucky in one of the previous matches.

The viewer cannot see what is happening on the field, and because of this, the picture seems even more interesting to me personally. One can only guess where the ball is now, when it will fly into the goal and whether the goalkeeper will be lucky. But judging by the faces watching the match, the game is in full swing. And if you look closely at the goalkeeper's concentrated face, you can confidently say that he will not miss the ball!

The drawn spectators in the picture play no less role than the figure of the protagonist. There are a lot of them. Basically, these are the same as the goalkeeper boy, schoolchildren. But in the very corner of the picture you can see the figure of an adult in a suit, a hat and a folder on his knees. It seems that he was going somewhere on business, but stopped, carried away by the battle. I really like his posture and face, because you can see that he is really interested in the game and does not consider it childish nonsense. If he could, he would have run to the field himself.

The little boy in the red tracksuit is also captured by the events. He was clearly not taken into the game due to the fact that he is still small, but he desperately wants to be among the players. So he froze behind the goalkeeper's back, leaning back slightly, so that his whole figure expresses a protest. I think he is offended by the schoolchildren, but he cannot leave - everything that happens is too interesting.

And girls are also depicted among the spectators. One of them, with a bright red bow, is closely watching the game. It can be seen that she has a fighting character and that she could play too. The second, a very small spectator, sits on her brother's lap. It is unknown if she understands anything, but she looks very closely.

Painting by S. A. Grigoriev "Goalkeeper".
S. A. Grigoriev is a famous Ukrainian artist, the author of many paintings, the characters of which are children. One of the best works of the painter is the painting "Goalkeeper", painted in 1949.
The action takes place in the schoolyard on one of the warm days of early autumn. In the distance you can see houses, construction sites and wasteland, hiding in a lilac-bluish haze. The borders of the gate are the guys' bags and caps.
The main character of the picture is a lanky, fair-haired boy. He alone looks like a real athlete, wearing blue shorts, a sweater, black leather gloves, lowered socks. The boy's knee is bandaged, and this shows that he is not playing for the first time. The goalkeeper stands in a tense posture: legs wide apart, hands resting on his knees, watches the opponent's actions. Behind the goalkeeper, his assistant, who was stuck out his stomach, his hands behind his back, in a red ski suit, was positioned, ready to catch the ball at any moment.
The spectators were seated on sloppyly folded boards. They are all of different ages. The game is watched by a man passing by and carried away by the exclamations of children. A boy in a dark suit and a girl in a red hood are "sick" most actively. The rest of the guys are calmer. All fans are facing the same direction. From this we can conclude that now they will be hitting a penalty. The game is watched by a small white dog, curled up in a ball at the feet of the children.
The artist managed to unite quite a few characters in a single action. Each detail has its place, each character is revealed objectively in its own way. The color of the picture is varied. It has both pale, flesh tones and bright colors.
Like many boys, I enjoy watching someone play football. Being a cheerleader is a very exciting experience.
I liked the picture because the artist managed to convey the intensity of football passions.

Description of the painting by S. Grigoriev "Goalkeeper"
Essay plan.
Sergei Alekseevich Grigoriev and his painting "Goalkeeper"
The plot and composition of the picture
Goalkeeper image

Sergei Alekseevich Grigoriev was born in 1910.
The theme of youth, physical and spiritual health of a person plays an important role in the artist's work. Children and school topics are especially frequent for Grigoriev. The best works of the artist are dedicated to children. The painting "Goalkeeper" brought Grigoriev well-deserved fame. For some works, including the "Goalkeeper", Grigoriev received the State Prize. It is about this picture that will be discussed in this work.
This picture is very dynamic. Its plot is as follows. Autumn reigns on the canvas, as evidenced by the dark cloudy sky, yellowing and falling foliage. The guys were returning from school and went to the wasteland to play football. The wasteland is located relatively close to the city, some buildings can be seen on the horizon, even the domes of the church are visible. The guys built a gate from schoolbags and school bags, just throwing them on the ground, and an exciting game ensued. The fact that the game is gambling is evidenced by the undisguised interest of the fans. Spectators sit on a stack of boards.
The central character of the picture is the goalkeeper boy. The goalkeeper stands bent over, his posture is tense, he is watching the game with concentration. By his posture, we can assume that the ball is still far from the goal. But at any moment the boy is ready to join the game and defend his goal. The hero wants to be like a real goalkeeper. He has the pose of a professional football player, gloves are on his hands. A knee wrapped in a bandage indicates that this is not the first time a goalkeeper has stood on the football field, and he has always defended the goal, even at the cost of his own knees. There is a feeling that the boy often watched the game of football and seeks to imitate football players even in clothes. On the boy's feet are lowered stockings and galoshes tied with braid. It can be seen that the goalkeeper is a brave, fearless boy, passionate about his work.
A little boy in a red suit stands behind the goalkeeper, hands behind his back. It seems that he also considers himself an almost professional football player, with the air of a connoisseur, the child watches the game. But he is not yet accepted into the team.
The eyes of all fans are directed to the right, where there is a tense struggle for the ball. The rest of the players with the ball are not depicted on the canvas, but the intense attention of the spectators indicates a hot fight. The man in the hat and jacket seems to be completely captured by the spectacle of the game and seems to want to take part in it himself. In his pose, the artist managed to depict tension and readiness for impetuous movements. The man sits with his legs slightly apart, resting his palms on his knees and leaning forward and sideways, where the players fight for the ball. The young man is probably a good football player himself. Or perhaps he remembered his own childhood and the same races with a ball on a vacant lot.
The boy in the ski suit and red tie is just as passionate about the game. He looks with his head stretched out and his mouth parted. A boy with a toddler in her arms and a girl in a school uniform with a red bow in her hair are also watching the game attentively. Other girls sitting on the boards - with a doll, in a hood, in a red cap - are more relaxed about the game, but nevertheless watch it closely. The most calm, even indifferent to the game, characters in the picture are a toddler in a downy shawl and a white shaggy dog with a black ear. The child quietly leaned against his brother, and the dog is curled up in a ball and dozing.
The picture is called "Goalkeeper", and this name reflects the essence of the artist's idea. Grigoriev tried to portray a boy standing guard at the gate.
Despite the fact that the audience does not see the actual football match, one can understand that Grigoriev reflected one of the most poignant moments of the game. This is felt in the goalkeeper's pose - tense, full of anticipation, and in the obvious interest of the audience.
To reveal the idea, Grigoriev uses painting means such as lighting, color, composition. The construction of the picture is quite simple and reflects the author's intention as much as possible. As we have already said, the goalkeeper, the main character of the canvas, takes center stage. The goalkeeper is shown in the foreground, separate from the other players on the team. In the background, children and a young man can be seen. In the background of the picture, the city, high-rise buildings, residential buildings are guessed. Details play an important role in the perception of the picture. Attention is drawn to the goal made from briefcases and bags, the goalkeeper's bandaged knee.
The painting is done in warm colors. The artist uses shades of yellow, light brown, red. The land in the picture is light brown, trampled, devoid of vegetation, and the viewer understands: this is not the first time a football game is being played on this wasteland. On the bushes and on the field, you can see golden leaves, the reddish-yellow boards play the role of a bench for the fans. The red tones were reflected in the little boy's costume, bow and hat for girls. These colors help the artist to convey the tension of the action, the match.
Grigoriev's painting conveys a sense of airiness, transparency of the autumn air. The landscape in this work plays the role of a background, it is unobtrusive and performed in rather muted colors: like a foggy city in the background, dark and warm tones of the earth, light dim shrubs. Everything in the picture is subordinated to the main idea of the artist and a subtle psychologist: to portray the young goalkeeper most accurately, completely carried away by the game and responsibly relating to his role. Grigoriev's painting is a story about children playing football.

In this article we will talk about the painting "Goalkeeper" by Grigoriev. This is an interesting piece of art that requires detailed and thorough analysis. We will try to take into account the details as much as possible, and first let's talk a little about the author.

Note that football is a game in which almost all representatives of the stronger sex are interested. The game attracts both boys and adults. This is not surprising, because it is full of excitement, adrenaline and vivid emotions. For a man, it is an incredible pleasure to take the ball through many difficulties and obstacles in order to score it in the end. The artist, which we will talk about below, managed back in 1949 to create a unique work of art that contains the entire palette of emotions. At the moment, the painting is in the Tretyakov Gallery, so after reading the article, you can go there to see with your own eyes the beauty and perfection of this work.

About the artist

Before starting the description of Grigoriev's painting "Goalkeeper", let's talk a little about the artist himself. We are talking about a talented painter from the USSR, who depicted children and adolescents in almost all of his paintings. He loved to show the real life of the younger generation. This is especially interesting because the post-war years were in the yard.

Sergei Grigoriev was born in 1910 in the city of Lugansk. Already in 1932, the young man successfully graduated from the Art Institute in Kiev. After that he worked there as a teacher for several years. The main theme of the paintings has always been the Soviet youth, or rather, the peculiarities of its upbringing.

Other jobs

Note that in addition to the well-known painting by Grigoriev "Goalkeeper", he also has several interesting works. For example, "In a Meeting", "Deuce Discussion" and a picture called "Returned". The activities of a talented person were not ignored. He was twice awarded the Stalin Prize, as well as various orders and awards. I would like to separately note: despite the fact that Grigoriev painted pictures back in Soviet times, almost all of them are still relevant. Even the modern education system does not forget about it. So, children in the 7th grade write an essay on the theme of his painting.

On the background

The artist Grigoriev "Goalkeeper" painted during his heyday. However, what was the main message he wanted to convey? Obviously, his work was more focused on a young viewer than an adult. So how do children understand the design? To do this, for a start, you just need to learn to formulate your thoughts clearly and clearly, be able to speak out and prove your opinion.

It is very important to see the plot on the canvas and understand its meaning. In order to draw some conclusions, and not just look at a beautiful picture, it is very important to analyze the scene that the artist depicts so carefully and skillfully on the canvas.

Time

Before talking about the history of the creation of Grigoriev's painting "Goalkeeper", one should think about the time at which it was created. It was 1949. Agree, quite a difficult time. Not many years have passed since the war, although the country was rebuilding at a rather accelerated pace. New enterprises, dwelling houses, cultural structures were built. Yes, the population lived in the poor, but even a peaceful sky inspired them enough optimism to believe in the best.

Children who saw hunger, poverty and bombing with their own eyes were special. They were not spoiled and knew how to sincerely rejoice at something simple. For example, playing soccer with friends could be a real experience. It is this attitude to simple things that Grigoriev was able to convey in the film "Goalkeeper". Well, he really succeeded.

The theme and main idea of the film "Goalkeeper" by Grigoriev

So what is the main thing in the picture? First, it should be noted that the action takes place somewhere in a vacant lot. That is, we see not a beautiful equipped courtyard, but a desolate place where children have gathered. They ran out of lessons and decided to play a little ball.

The main character is the most ordinary boy. He stands at the gate that the children have made from their schoolbags. There is also a place for the fans. They sat on a log, as there were no special benches for sitting. We see seven guys. An adult, dressed in a suit, is sitting next to them. He also differs in his hat.

The description of Grigoriev's painting "Goalkeeper" should end with the presence of another hero on the canvas. This is a boy who stands outside the gate and watches the game with interest. There are also animals in this picture. So, we see a small white dog sleeping peacefully next to a little girl. She certainly does not show any interest in what is happening around.

Let's pay attention not to the scene itself, but to the landscapes in the background. What do we see on the canvas of Sergei Grigoriev? We see different buildings and temples. The first, by the way, are multi-storey, which suggests that all this action takes place in a fairly large city. By the state of nature, namely the yellowing leaves, we can understand that it is autumn outside. Children are dressed warmly, but not like in winter. Consequently, the weather is pretty cool.

Boy

We already know when Grigoriev painted the picture "Goalkeeper", but how did he show his hero of the post-war times? This is a boy who looks no more than 12-13 years old. He is wearing a blue sweater on top, from under which a snow-white collar is visible, which indicates that the boy is a diligent schoolboy. We also see shoes, shorts and a shirt on him. The boy is wearing gloves.

We see that his knee is bandaged, but despite this, he is confidently on his feet and is watching the match tensely. The game is quite difficult, the boy even bent a little while waiting for the ball. He understands perfectly well that the outcome of the game largely depends on him. He is focused and collected at this moment.

Heroes

However, Sergei Grigoriev portrayed not only the main character, there are also minor ones. Let us turn our attention to the young fans, among whom there are both boys and girls. They, too, are tense and passionate. They all watch the field in fascination. Children understand that everything is about to be decided. They would also like to play, but they are still too small, which means they are too early. At the same time, the guys understand that supporting the team is also very important. Therefore, they honestly carry out this business. One of the guys could not sit still because of tense expectation and ran out of the field in order to quickly follow the outcome of the situation. He understands that he himself will not be able to influence the game, but, nevertheless, he is very interested.

Reproductions of Grigoriev's painting "The Goalkeeper" are in many museums and various institutions. The original work of the author has been in the Tretyakov Gallery since 1950. Examining the canvas, you can pay attention to a rather interesting and atypical hero for this plot. This is a grown man in a hat who came to cheer for the children. We do not know who it is: maybe a casual passer-by who was carried away by the action, or perhaps the father of one of the guys. It is interesting that he follows the game with the same tension and passion as the children themselves. Moreover, the man himself would not have refused to play the ball.

Peculiarities

The peculiarities of Grigoriev's picture "Goalkeeper" include the fact that it very vividly and vividly conveys the mood. We feel excitement and a burning desire to at least look at the outcome. The author of the canvas wanted to show how exciting this game can be. Despite the fact that this picture was written for a long time, its plot is relevant to this day. Indeed, a huge number of people love football. Thousands of fans all over the world come to the matches. Children of school age will be interested in both reading and writing an essay on this work of the artist. After all, each of the guys in the evening also chases the ball with his comrades.

At the same time, as for the design itself, the picture is painted in calm colors. Probably, the author did this in order to show the not so rosy post-war period. We see gray and cold shades, which seem to indicate that the time in the yard is quite difficult. At the same time, there are also bright spots that mean faith in a bright future and hope for more.

Subtext

Do you think there is a subtext in this picture? Many will immediately answer that no, but this would be an erroneous statement. In fact, there is a certain subtext that the author of the work wanted to convey. But what is he like? To do this, let us remember that collectivism flourished in the Soviet Union at the time of painting. What do we see? A team game in which the overall outcome depends on each participant. This is a kind of parallel with the state of affairs in the Union at that time. Indeed, the picture seems to remind that a person cannot live without society. It is an inseparable whole. To survive, you need to stick together. This is precisely the subtext that Sergei Grigoriev created in his picture.

Well, summing up the article, I would like to say that this work of the artist is one of the best. She showed all the diversity of his talent, as well as the ability to convey the essence with the help of an image. He seemed to show that just a brush and talent are capable of much. Grigoriev's paintings are characterized by special warmth and vitality.
