The chemical mixture applied to the strands during the bioperm procedure (in other words, biological or biochemical perm) does not contain components hazardous to the health of the hair, namely ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, and thioglycolic acid. Its main component, the active ingredient, is cysteamine hydrochloride, which is similar in structure to the protein found in the hair structure. It has a beneficial effect on the condition of the hair; after bio-curling, the hair retains its natural shine, softness, and elasticity.
Only strict adherence to the procedure technology and the hands of an experienced master can not harm the hair, not disrupt its structure or burn it. Sometimes hairdressers recommend that girls with damaged hair combine biochemistry with a structural hair restoration procedure. How to make a bioperm at home (technology)

You will need not only a curling compound, but also a shampoo-cream, conditioner-equalizer, and a neutralizer. All products must be from the same company; there is no need to mix components from different manufacturers.
Tip: Go for a consultation with an experienced hairdresser. Consult with him about choosing the right product suitable for the structure and condition of your hair. The final result depends on the correct choice of curling agent.
To do a bio-perm at home, use:
- Chemical agent;
- Bobbins of the required diameter (if you want to get small curls, use small bobbins, and if you want to have large curls, then you will need large bobbins);
- Small foam sponges – 2 pcs.;
- Glass, plastic or ceramic containers for mixing components;
- Protective gloves for hands;
- A fine-toothed plastic comb;
- Towel;
- A hat;
- Hairdresser's cape for clothing.
Before starting the procedure, make sure you are not allergic to one of the components of the product. Apply a small amount of curling agent to your wrist, leave for 10-15 minutes, rinse. If you have an allergy, your skin will become red and irritated. The use of such a composition is prohibited.
Step-by-step technology:
- Wash your hair with a special shampoo, which was purchased complete with curling composition. The shampoo will slightly lift the hair cuticles to enhance the curling effect.
- Dry the strands with a towel, but do not dry thoroughly. They must remain moist.
- Comb your hair. Apply a small amount of bio-curling preparation along the entire length.
- Divide your hair into several parts: upper occipital, lower occipital, side parts, temporal parts.
- Wind each hair tightly around the bobbins one at a time, pulling the strands back to create tension. Winding must be done quickly to achieve an even result.
- Using a foam sponge, moisten the strands wound onto the bobbins with a bio-curling solution. This step is extremely important; you need to wet the strands thoroughly so that the liquid drips slightly from the bobbins.
- Put on a hairdresser's cap.
- Leave the product on for 15-25 minutes. After 7-10 minutes, unwind one strand from the bobbin, check the condition of the curl: does it retain the desired shape, what is its diameter. Based on these indicators, adjust the further time of the procedure.
- Once the required time has been maintained, rinse your hair generously and thoroughly with warm water, without removing the bobbins, the strands should remain curled.
- Using a second foam sponge, apply 1/3 of the neutralizer to curled hair. Keep it for 10-15 minutes.
- Carefully remove the bobbins. Apply the remaining amount of neutralizer to your curls. Leave it for another 5 minutes.
- Rinse the substance from your curls with warm water.
- Apply a special leave-in conditioning composition.
- Dry your hair naturally.

How long does a biowave last?
How long the result of the procedure lasts depends on the correct choice of chemical, the size of the resulting curls, as well as the condition and structure of the hair. On average, the effect lasts for 3-6 months. It should be noted that with biochemical perm there is no sharp transition between curled curls and regrown hair. The border is erased, styling looks natural. To always shine with neat curls, it is recommended to do a gentle perm two to three times a year.
