There is a fairly popular idea among the general public about children and grandchildren paying for some misdeeds and sins of their ancestors: crimes, witchcraft damage, love spells, etc. Is this opinion correct? Absolutely false! Remember once and for all: descendants do not bear karmic responsibility for the misdeeds of their ancestors(except for a special situation, the essence of which is stated at the end of this article). Bad personal karma is a common occurrence. But bad karma of the kind is an idea that contradicts the very essence of karmic teaching.

However, where did the opposite point of view come from? Confusion is caused by a phenomenon known as the generational curse. The victim of a curse can be one specific person, but it happens that the children of this person, as well as his entire family, are cursed. In such cases they speak of “curses up to the third generation”, “curses up to the seventh generation”, etc. There are also some types of witchcraft damage that can be inherited by descendants. For example, they gave a person a damage to cancer, which was not eliminated in a timely manner, and the person died. And one of the special nuances of reincarnation is that often souls are embodied in the physical bodies of people within their kind. This is a very important nuance! This is why many people have a kind of unconscious interest in history (they are simply “trying to remember” their previous lives) and, especially, in their family tree. By the way, for this reason, descendants inherit the traits, characters and predispositions of their ancestors. Thus, theoretically, the body of the great-grandfather and his great-grandson can be inhabited by the same soul (of course, provided that the great-grandfather died before the birth of the great-grandson). AND if the soul of a great-grandfather incarnates in the body of his descendant, it “works out its sin” precisely in the body of this descendant.
