How to stop worrying and start living?

  • 26.01.2022

We often start to get nervous simply from fear: we can’t even imagine how this or that problem will be solved, and we imagine the worst scenarios for the development of events. To save your nerves, there are many effective techniques and recommendations that will help you stop being nervous.

Alas, our life is not at all cloudless and does not look like a fairy tale at all. There are enough problems, worries, anxieties and disappointments in it.

Very important, how do you feel about to some kind of trouble. There are people who can describe any trifle in their imagination in such a way that it turns into an insoluble problem.

It is very difficult for such people to live. It must be remembered that all diseases are from nerves, therefore, the more you worry and worry about any, even the most insignificant reason, thereby giving a chance for another disease to capture your body. Although they say that nerve cells are restored, this process is quite long, therefore, I think, for the sake of health, it is worth reconsidering your attitude to some things and to life in general.

Of course, for many, it is not so easy to stop being nervous, so you need to understand all the negativity of a nervous state. To begin with, it is worth considering whether you like the state of discomfort that you experience during anxiety. Remember how unpleasantly your hands sweat, your heartbeat quickens, a dry lump gets across your throat, and there is such confusion in your head that it seems that at this moment you are not responsible for yourself or for your actions.

So, in order to stop being nervous and finally start living, you need to understand the reasons for your fears, because it is they who cause this nervous state.

  • Remember childhood.

No, now, unfortunately, I don’t mean to remember the happy and carefree days, when there were no problems other than studying well and obeying your parents. Think maybe there is some moment from childhood that still torments you. For example, your mother often told you: “But Aunt Olya’s daughter is so smart!” etc. And you involuntarily got used to thinking that you are by no means the best, even for your mother.

Think about it, maybe you still overreact to someone's superiority and it's hard for you to come to terms with it? If this is so, then try as soon as possible to get rid of this eternal, unconscious to the end, rivalry with other people.

Understand that we are all different, with our own strengths and weaknesses.

You need to learn to accept both, namely, to be calm about the shortcomings and appreciate the virtues.

  • Look at the problem with different eyes.

Often we are nervous because we do not know how this or that situation will end. After all, the unknown is always scary and alarming. Try to look into the future and imagine the outcome of an event that excites you. It is not necessary, of course, to invent various horrors, winding yourself up even more.

come up with the most positive option. For example, you are going to an interview to get the job of your dreams and, of course, you are afraid that you will not be hired. Imagine the interview itself, how you will behave, what to say, how to answer questions. Think over every little thing. In this case, your fear will be replaced by self-confidence, since you have decided on your actions and it remains only to follow these “instructions”.

  • Give the correct setting.

Don't set yourself up for failure right away. Let's take the same situation with employment. Think about it, why then go for an interview at all if you are sure in advance that the employer will refuse? Imagine if every time you solve all the problems in the same way, i.e. retreat from them, which in general you will achieve in life.

It is best to calm down, tune in only to the good, throwing out all the bad thoughts from your head.

  • Special exercises.

At first, it will be a little difficult to control your actions, words, and feelings at once. Focus on external calmness, and for internal use special breathing exercises that help you relax and stop being nervous.

  • Play calm.

Imagine a situation you are about to face, such as a conversation with your boss or an exam. Scroll through the desired version of events in your head, i.e. how you would like to behave. Remember and try in life to reproduce everything conceived in detail.

How to stop being nervous over trifles

At times, every person explodes over trifles. For this it may be a thousand reasons fatigue, a lot of problems that have fallen in an instant or a banal lack of sleep. In order to stop being nervous over trifles, the following tips will help you.

  1. Get rid of bad habits. As trite as it sounds, smoking and alcohol increase the emotional burden on the nervous system. Despite the fact that people smoke and drink in order to "relax and calm down", in reality they only muffle the problem, postponing its solution for a while.
  2. Let sport into your life. Instead of “sour” or running around smoking every five minutes, go in for sports or, if laziness does not allow it, draw at least a “swallow” on the balcony. Sport, as you know, clears thoughts and normalizes the work of not only the nervous system, but the whole organism as a whole. Not without reason, back in Soviet times, all children were taught that sport is our friend.
  3. Have a rest. Perhaps you've just been spinning around in life like a squirrel in a wheel, and you need a break to bounce back. Take a break - eat Twix. Hmm, by the way, this is the first useful advice I hear in advertising.
  4. Cold and hot shower. If you need to let off steam right here and now, then get better in the shower. A jet of cool and hot water will alternately bring you to your senses and make your brain work properly.
  5. You are what you eat. Sometimes malnutrition contributes to failure throughout the body, so watch your diet. You should not, for example, drink coffee if you are irritated. No, I’m not a nutritionist and I’m not always for a healthy lifestyle (sometimes you can be ugly), but, seriously, make yourself better green tea, even if you don’t drink “this muck”.
  6. Go to bed. No wonder they say that the morning is wiser than the evening, so never solve problems at night looking. This will only provide you with insomnia and a headache worse in the morning than from a hangover.
  7. "I can do everything!". In fact, it is fears that create problems for us and, as a result, make us nervous even for the most insignificant reasons. Be self-confident, increase self-esteem, learn to control emotions, and then you can easily show all your fears "fig".
