"Star Factory" - a new twist

The 6th season of the project, created to support and promote new talent, started in the spring of 2006. Of the 16 thousand applicants for the talent show, 17 young performers were selected. All the guys are different, they made their first steps in music before participating in a rating TV show in different styles and genres.

But the producer of the show, Viktor Drobysh, coped with a difficult task brilliantly, finding in the guys what complemented and turned the scattered into a single whole.

Already at the second concert, the producer presented new bands to the audience. Not all of them successfully continued their careers after the project, but four managed to stay together for a long time. 17-year-old Barnaulian, 19-year-old Alexei Korzin from Apatity, 21-year-old Muscovite and his peer from Mozdok got a stellar chance.

Earlier, the guys took their first steps in a musical career in different directions. Arseny preferred soul performance, Alexey - RnВ, Roman chose rock, and Denis read rap. But the guys performed their joint debut composition entitled "Another's Bride" in one breath, demonstrating a single whole.

The first Chelsea squad

The first composition became a hit in 2006, in the summer it sounded on all dance floors and in cafes, reached the 2nd step of the Golden Gramophone hits parade on the waves of Russian Radio and stayed in this position for 20 weeks.

Roman learned the intricacies of show business from the age of six, having traveled all over the country in the touring group of Tatyana Ovsienko, whose director is his father. It is not surprising that, constantly rotating in a creative environment, communicating with singers and musicians, Roma himself studied music from childhood and sang a lot.

Breaking the voice at a transitional age, studying in high school and the hassle of preparing for entering a university, for some time pushed dreams of the stage to the background. But at the age of 17, during a trip to America, Roman returned to music again. “I have a lot of free time, an incentive,” he says. "Then I started composing my first songs and found that I could sing again."

"Star Factory"

Realizing the need to gain experience in the professional scene, Roman takes part in the auditions of the Star Factory project three times. And at the beginning of 2006, luck smiles on him on this path: he is among the "manufacturers" of the sixth convocation - the wards of Viktor Drobysh.

The four months spent on the project became not only a landmark, but also an unusually productive period in Roman's creative career. At first, he did not look too confident against the background of his neighbors in the Star House, many of whom had considerable stage experience and special vocal education even before joining the project. However, thanks to his talent and hard work, he managed not only not to get lost against their background, but also to make a great qualitative breakthrough both in vocal terms and in terms of liberation on stage, from concert to concert revealing himself from a new side and gaining professionalism.

Confirmation of this is the songs of the Gotthard group, with which it was Roman Arkhipov (and not the finalists of the project) who closed the final concert at Olimpiyskiy.

After the end of the project, Roman, like other "manufacturers", signs a contract with the production center of Viktor Drobysh and goes on a tour of "Star Factory - 6" as a member of the "Chelsea" group. In addition to him, the team includes Arseny Borodin, Denis Petrov and Alexey Korzin. The group is quickly gaining popularity, their songs are at the top of the charts. Whatever Roman sang at the "Factory" - pop or chanson - he did not try to copy the manner and style of popular performers, remaining true to his idea to introduce "heavier notes" into the project format. However, to the greatest extent he managed to reveal himself in the numbers of the rock format. His very first rock duet with the Swiss group Gotthard on the song "Heaven" brought Roman recognition from the viewers of Channel One and MTV. For eight weeks, the duo occupied the first line of the MusicBox channel charts, for which Roman was awarded a personal disc. The musicians of the Gotthard group themselves were so pleased with the result that they invited Roman to repeat their joint performance at the Tochka club, and also presented him with one of their songs (“Lift U Up”), which he performed on the factory stage as his second solo number.
After such success, Alexey Belov, the leader of the Gorky Park group, drew attention to the young rock singer, who wrote the compositions “I Will Not Forget” and “Sorry” especially for Roman. With the latter, Roman left the "Star Factory" just before the final. But this departure was not a defeat! "But rock is still alive!" - he said in his farewell speech, confirming that he managed to accomplish his plan - to break the pop format of the project. Confirmation of this is the songs of the Gotthard group, with which it was Roman Arkhipov (and not the finalists of the project) who closed the final concert at Olimpiyskiy.

The group is currently active in concert, working on the creation of a new album, collaborating with popular Russian performers (in particular, with Philip Kirkorov).

However, despite the group's successes, Roman still dreams of a solo career and plans to create his own rock project.

She studies English and Spanish.

In addition to keyboards, he plays bass. According to eyewitnesses, he mastered the drum kit in one night, not allowing the dacha village to sleep until morning.
