Student at this university: Perhaps this review will be useful to those who are unsure whether to enroll in a regional university or cannot decide to go to another city. I study at the Institute of Economics of the National Research University "BelSU". Initially, I planned a different specialty, but my parents insisted on a classical education. In general, the educational process, relationships with teachers, classmates, student life and social infrastructure suit me. As with everything, there are some problems, but they can all be solved with perseverance. Don’t expect that this university will give you all the knowledge you need – you will have to learn a lot on your own. As a plus, there are strong teachers who will not force you to study uninteresting notes, but will offer cool project work, but there are also those who will dictate 20 sheets of lectures on a non-core subject, and then also force you to reproduce all this at a seminar. It all depends on how you express yourself and your abilities. No one will demand the impossible. In addition, there are good bonuses for research, participation in various competitions and events (thanks to participation in the public life of the university, when I first got a job in my 4th year, my scholarship was more than my salary!).
For those who love action, there are plenty of activities here: student council, volunteering, media, sports, etc. There are really a lot of student associations, and if you don’t want to spend the bright years of your life at the computer and taking notes, then there is simply unrealistic scope for activity for you.
Regarding housing and infrastructure: there are 7 dorms, soon there will be 9, but there won’t be enough places for everyone, priority is given to distant regions. We rent an apartment for three people for 12 thousand. It doesn’t turn out to be very stressful. In the canteen in the building on Studencheskaya you can eat normally for up to 100 rubles, in the building on Pobeda, of course, the prices are much higher, but the interior of the canteen is much cooler.
I like to go to the pool; sections are free for students. There are also many types of sports. The only thing is that the schedule of sections is not always convenient, but even if you don’t have time for a section, then the price for a pool or gym is 30-50 rubles, for Belgorod this is completely free.
In short, if you are considering Belgorod for admission, then pay attention to BelSU. By the way, there will be no problems with work (again, if you don’t sit in one place and wait for a kind uncle to offer you a job), here you can agree on a free visit and not go to classes to work, or personally with teachers talk, then bring your essay or problems for testing, and you will be graded normally. It’s more difficult with exams, but learning 50 tickets, especially if you work in your specialty and have something to tell, is bullshit. Of course, the salary is not always encouraging, but everything worked out for me :)
Now I’m not working in my specialty, but in the future I plan to develop in marketing. All the best))

Irina Kurbaevskaya 07/09/2013 19:25

Let me start by saying that I entered my university for the second time. In the first year I was unlucky because... the schools had double graduations and, as a result, twice as many applicants, the passing score for my department was very high. I will say in my defense that I was only three points short. The second time was successful. There were much fewer applicants and the passing score was lowered.

And now I am already a student at Belgorod State University. There were twenty of us in the group. Eighteen girls and only two boys, but by the end of the first year there were only twelve of us left, and yes, only one guy. Our university is large - ten thousand students. I won’t say that the university is particularly popular; in recent years there have been fewer and fewer applicants. However, our university has one big advantage - these are specialties that are unique in their kind, i.e. Only our university trains specialists in this direction.

The organization of the educational process was quite acceptable. The classes started at nine in the morning, with a maximum of four couples. The couple lasted an hour and twenty, without a break, which seems to me much more convenient. I would especially like to mention our dining room because... For a student, the canteen is the main place at the university. We were fed excellently, the choice was like in a restaurant, and the prices were endlessly pleasing.

The teaching staff was terrible. All the teachers were immediately hostile and tried to force us to take our documents, and one person almost threw books at us. For a first year student it was terrible. There were tears, and screams, and hysterics.

There was no student life as such. We were unlucky, our department was located far from the main building, and we were never present at the holidays and events organized by the student activists. There was always silence and no movement in our building. We learned about all the events, concerts, and seminars only a week later. For me it was hell, I felt like I was turning into a vegetable.

In defense of my university, I want to say that we have no corruption. No one has ever taken bribes. I heard what was proposed, but our teachers stood firm and did not agree.

In my specialty, I am forced to work because... I studied on a budget, but I hate my job and dream of running away as soon as possible. I realized that after the first failure I had to choose another university and another specialty.

And finally, I want to give advice to future students. Guys, please choose your future profession consciously, yourself, choose what you really want to do, don’t listen to anyone, neither friends, nor family, only yourself.

National Research University Belgorod State University - Research Institute of Belgorod State University

It is not surprising, but BelSU, especially the so-called. the new building is popular among ordinary people - a lot of money was invested in the improvement, so the university itself and the surrounding area turned out to be the main and most beautiful attraction of the city, where it is very pleasant to spend time. BelSU as a place of study is very popular in the region, although recently it has had quite a lot of competition from branches of out-of-town universities, including Moscow ones. The Technological Academy also poses serious competition. I have heard the opinion that the quality of education there is higher; I cannot say with certainty because... I studied only at BelSU.

Entering a prestigious faculty “without cronyism” is quite difficult, but it is possible. I got in, although of course I had to sweat and cram.

The competition for a place is different - depending greatly on the faculty - getting into the fashionable departments, especially the free department, is becoming more and more difficult every year, while for others, on the contrary, they barely recruit and even try to lure applicants and students from other faculties.

For a regional university, the university has very large buildings, scattered across several districts of the city, and still there are a lot of students, most of them are visitors, including from distant countries, in the area near the university dormitories you can meet students of various nationalities.

The groups have an average of 25-35 people depending on the faculty. The university buildings themselves are large, there are a lot of people, but the organization was approached correctly and there are almost no crowds or traffic jams. True, at first, confusion in the numerous corridors is inevitable. As for the organization of the educational process, there is still work to be done. Teachers are mostly 2 generations young only because of their desks or those who will not be able to retire, there are advantages to this, but there are more disadvantages since the average training of teachers suffers. Often, instead of teachers, lectures are given by senior students, at best graduate students, and they do this almost illegally; teaching hours go to professors and others.

Trade union rallies and so on are mostly of a forcibly ostentatious nature in the best Soviet traditions; instead of classes, students are “driven” to various kinds of extras and conferences. But we must pay tribute, there are health centers and trips, including abroad, but of course there are not enough of them for everyone, you understand.

There’s a lot of show-off, but that’s how it is everywhere here.

Unfortunately, the business of “selling tickets” for tests (exams) is thriving and some teachers have become so insolent that they demand that all students chip in “for books”, “for paper” or even “for a teapot” for the department, regardless of whether the student knows item or not. Plus, there is a legal tax from all students “purchase of university products” - if you think that a research institution produces and forcibly sells books in order to improve the education of students, then you are mistaken; professors and associate professors distribute candies, T-shirts, caps and other consumer goods with the Alma logo mater.

They help find a job after graduating from university, but not for everyone and in different ways - they may offer a obviously unacceptable vacancy in Tmutarakan. Many people, having received a diploma, work not in their specialty, but at best in a related field, and even then this is rare; a diploma of higher education is often required for show. Well, in this case the check mark will be bold because The university, despite its shortcomings, is still prestigious in our area.

I am a student at the Belgorod National Research University (NRU BelGu) in the city of Belgorod. This is one of the largest universities in Russia, with more than 30 thousand students. It also ranks 64th in the Top 100 Russian universities. We have quite a lot of foreign students studying here. Before entering BelSU, I was very worried that I would not be accepted, but, as it turned out, I was in vain. In 2009, when I entered, there was a shortage of students in almost all faculties, so everyone was admitted on a paid basis. If we talk about studying on a budget basis, the competition was on average 5 people per place when I entered. More up-to-date data can be found on the official website of the university. National Research University BelGu is one of the two largest universities in the city. It constantly competes with Belgorod State Technological University. Shukhova. Of course, when it comes to technical specialties, then at BSTU. Shukhov is taught better, but there are no humanities specialties there. Bribes are monitored very strictly at the National Research University of BelG. In many faculties it is impossible to buy an exam. Although, as they say, the exception is the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Business and Service, as well as Physical Education. At the same time, for example, at the Faculty of Medicine, at the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology, you should not try to bribe the teacher. It is quite difficult to judge the teaching staff. Of course, like everywhere else, there are some favorite teachers and some not so favorite ones. As for student life at the university, we organize competitions between KVN teams between faculties, Miss BelGu is chosen every year, in May the entire university goes to the Nezhigol natural park for one day, where all students celebrate health day.
