Title page, title card - the first page of the academic work, reveals the student’s data and topic. Can be used for essays, coursework, dissertations, reports. It contains information:

  • Student's name
  • Speciality
  • Educational institution
  • Work theme
  • Kind of work
  • Year of implementation
  • Inspector details

The design of the title page according to GOST is regulated by standard 2.105-95. It was adopted in 1995 and to this day is the main standard for how to design the title page of an essay and other works (coursework, dissertations, tests). This GOST is valid in all CIS countries, including:

  • Russia
  • Belarus
  • Ukraine
  • Kazakhstan

Margin size for title page:

  • left margin: 30 mm;
  • right margin: 10 mm;
  • top margin: 20 mm;
  • bottom margin: 20 mm.

What font should be on the title page.

The guest specifies font size 14 for all fields except the table of contents and title of the work. Typically Times New Roman or another sans serif font. All data except student information is centered.

Instructions – 6 steps for correct design of the title page in accordance with GOST.

Depending on whether you make a title page for a test, coursework, dissertation or essay, the completeness of the information will differ. But there are a number of mandatory data that are indicated for each work. The title page title contains the name of the ministry and educational institution.

Step 1. Ministry of Education

We indicate the Ministry of Education of your country (14 font, capital letters)

Step 2. Uni.

Next is the full name and form of ownership of the educational institution (14 font, capital letters)

Step 3. Department.

After this, indicate the department (14 font)

Step 4. Type of work.

After that, depending on the type of work, in capital letters (16 font, Bold):

    • GRADUATE WORK
    • COURSE WORK
    • TEST
    • ABSTRACT

Step 5. Theme of the work.

Full topic name, classic spelling, 16 font, bold, lowercase

Step 6. Details of the contractor and inspector

The details of the performer and the inspector are formatted differently for different jobs, but are always in font size 14 and written in lowercase. Here are a few examples ○ Sample for a thesis

○ Sample for coursework

○ Sample for test

Can the grade be reduced for incorrect title deeds?

The design of the title page is an important point on any subject and is part of the regulatory control. If a teacher has accepted a work in which the title page is incorrectly formatted, he does not have the right to reduce the score for this, because in this case, the work has been reviewed and approved by a reviewer.

Which universities is it suitable for?

These rules are GOST. Therefore, they are universal and suitable for any university in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries. If you fundamentally do not want to redo it when the teacher requires it, you can refer to GOST 2.105-95. which clearly states for whom and how it operates.

Is the design different for different items?

The sample title design does not depend on the subject. All its elements can remain the same and only the name of the item can change. An exception is tests, which in some subjects may require a cover page for the notebook. This is a regular A4 sheet format folded in half. We have a separate material where you can download this sample or design it yourself.

Is the design different for specialties?

The specialty does not matter at all. All elements remain unchanged, except for the specialty, which needs to be changed for the current one.

Rules for completing an individual assignment (project)

1.Goals and objectives of the project:

    systematization, expansion and consolidation of the student’s theoretical knowledge in a special course;

developing the skills of independent analytical and research work necessary for practical activities, mastering the methodology for their implementation.

2. General instructions for project design.

2.1. It is advisable to print the text of the work on one side of separate standard sheets of paper in A-4 format, 210 x297 mm. Left margin - 3 cm, top and bottom - 2 cm, right - 1.5 cm. The distance between the lines is 1.5 intervals. Font: TimesNewRoman. Font size: 12. Pages must be numbered. It is customary to start each section of the work on a new page.

2.2. Sources are indicated for all quotes and digital data given in the text of the test work. The link to the source used in the work can be either end-to-end (example No. 1) or in the text of the work (example No. 2). In the second case, the link is placed at the end of the quotation or statistical data in the form of square brackets, which indicate the serial number of the source in the list of references, and then the page number in this source.

Example No. 1

“In the 60s, the gross public debt of developed countries averaged 45%, and in the 80s - over 70%” 1.

Example No. 2

“In the 60s, the gross public debt of developed countries averaged 45%, and in the 80s - over 70%”

Vague words such as “ present time the inflation rate in the USA is 2%...”, “ in past years China's growth rate was 5%...", etc. The world economy is developing dynamically, therefore a phrase taken from the context of the original source, which was published, say, in 1995 without indicating the chronological period, distorts the idea of the state of affairs in the modern world economy, i.e. the world economy of 2008-2011.

2.3. Each table or graph is continuously numbered and must be provided with a title. Tables, diagrams, etc. are more practical. put in applications.

2.4. The total volume of the main text (excluding title page, table of contents and appendices) should be up to 6-8 typewritten pages (30 lines per page and 70 characters per line). The completed project is defended in a seminar class and is an admission to the exam.

3. Structure and content of the project:

Title page

Introduction

Applications.

4. Brief summary of individual sections of the project.

4.1.The title page (see appendix) indicates: the name of the educational institution, the name of the subject, the student’s record book number, the title of the topic, the full surname and patronymic name of the student(s).

4.3. The introduction formulates the main goals and objectives of the work and characterizes the information base on which the work is performed. It is advisable to evaluate the accessibility of the presentation, informativeness, illustrativeness, controversiality, and reliability of the primary sources used. The introduction is up to 1 page.

4.4.The sections of the main part contain theoretical material, examine the points of view of international specialists, provide comments on the phenomena of the world economy being studied, analyze the problems of the world economy and international economic relations, and propose possible solutions to them. The author can join (with appropriate justification) to the most rational and progressive, in his opinion, point of view, or he can develop his own, original position or create and justify new directions of research on the problem under study.

The student should pay special attention to the logical consistency and simplicity of presentation, clarity and harmony of formulations.

4.5. The conclusion is a generalization of the study as a whole, reflects the conclusions and, if possible, the author’s suggestions and recommendations.

4.6. The list of used literature must be drawn up in accordance with bibliographic requirements.

Lomakin V.K. World economy. Textbook for universities. - 2nd ed., revised. and additional - M.: UNITY-DANA, 2001. - 735 p.

According to articles from magazines and newspapers the following is indicated: author (last name, then initials), title of the article, name of the magazine, year of publication, number of the magazine, pages (for newspapers - name of the newspaper, year, day of month). For example:

ON PREPARATION

RESEARCH (CREATIVE) PROJECT

IN PRIMARY CLASSES

TYUMEN, 2015

STRUCTURE OF RESEARCH WORK, GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS ON CONTENT

The research work includes the following main elements:

· Title page;

· Introduction;

· Main part;

· Conclusion;

· Bibliography;

· Applications.

I. Title page

The title page contains: the full name of the educational institution, the phrase “RESEARCH PROJECT” or “CREATIVE PROJECT”, the name of the topic, the full name of the performer, the full name of the project leader, the name of the city in which the educational institution is located, the year.

See Attachment.

III. Introduction

The introduction of the research work provides a brief description of the topic being studied. It is necessary to justify relevance. The following concepts should be highlighted: object and subject of research, designate target, formulate tasks, which have to be solved, justified problem And hypothesis research, select methods research.

Object of study - is a process or phenomenon that exists independently of the researcher and gives rise to a problematic situation. When defining an object, we are looking for an answer to the question “What are we looking at?”

Subject of study - this is a part, a side of an object, its specific characteristics.

For example:

Object: cooking

Item: Napoleon Cake

Purpose of the study -(always one) should contain an idea of the expected result. As a rule, the formulation of a goal begins with the verbs: “find out”, “identify”, “form”, “justify”, “carry out”, “find out”, “find”, “fulfill”. The goal is understood as the final, scientific and practical results that should be achieved as a result of its implementation.

Research objectives– (always several 3-6) these are certain stages in achieving the goal. The formulation of tasks must correspond to the content of the chapters of the project work. The formulation of tasks begins with the verb: “analyze” (literature), “study”, “consider”, “perform”, “conduct” (questionnaire, holiday, exhibition).

Research hypothesis– this is a detailed assumption that describes in detail the technology of the innovation, as a result of which the goal of the research is expected to be achieved. There may be several hypotheses, some of them will be confirmed, and some will not.

Options for formulating hypotheses:

If we apply * and *, we get *.

The most important indicators *are*.

The characteristic feature * is *.

We believe that if * we do *, then * will happen.

Research methods:
1. observation-perception of reality phenomena.
2. experiment– testing of the studied characteristics
(buoyancy, volatility, frost resistance, ...)
3. analysis– division into component parts and drawing conclusions. (literature, questionnaire, survey)

4 .forecasting

5. generalization

6. description

ATTENTION!!! When writing CREATIVE PROJECT in the INTRODUCTION you only need to indicate relevance, purpose, objectives. (see below for the names of sections for creative projects).

IV. Main part

In the main part, it is necessary to reflect and disclose all the points of the drawn up plan (according to the content). It is necessary to prove the reliability of the results using calculations, examples of solutions, device layouts (with detailed descriptions), and links to literary sources. Each section of the main part should begin with a statement of the problem and end with brief conclusions. The main part may include drawings. diagrams, tables, etc.

V. Conclusion

The conclusion is a brief overview of the research performed. In it, the author again touches on the relevance and assesses the effectiveness of the chosen approach to achieving the goal. It is necessary to carry out not a summation of micro-findings from the chapters, but an analysis of all the work done. New facts and judgments are excluded in the conclusion.

VI. Bibliography

Arranged in alphabetical order (by author's last name), the city, publisher, and year of publication of the book are indicated. An additional list indicates Internet resources. (Application)

VII. Applications

The appendices include materials (questionnaires, diagrams, graphs, drawings, experimental results) that are necessary for the author of the work to prove his research and conclusions.

FORMULATION OF A RESEARCH PROJECT

I. General requirements

The text of the work, as a rule, is 10-20 pages of printed text. To type text, you must use the Microsoft Word editor for Windows. Line spacing is one and a half. The text and other printed and inscribed elements of the work must be black, the outlines of letters and characters must be clear.

Pages must have margins: top, bottom, right - 2 cm, left - 3 cm. Align text to the width of the page. Font size – 14. The text is printed on one side of the sheet.

The first page is considered to be the title page, the second is the contents - they are not numbered. Page numbering begins with the introduction and a number is added - “3”, etc. The page serial number is indicated in the upper right corner.

Headings of chapters and their paragraphs are drawn from the beginning and from the middle of the line (possibly bold text).

Formulas (if it is not possible to print them) are entered into the text in legible black color.

Tables, figures, diagrams, drawings, graphs, photographs, both in the text of the research work and in the appendices, must be made on standard sheets. And signatures and explanations for photographs and drawings must be on the front side. Under the photograph, drawing,... the name is signed by F.I. the person who completed the photo or drawing, the date of completion (font size 12 is possible). If there are abbreviations in the table or diagram, they must be explained and deciphered below.

Before the table, diagram, graph, drawing, their name is written down.

If the text uses a quote from a literary source or an Internet resource, you must indicate the source number in square brackets according to the list of references. The bibliography includes all literary sources used in the work (monographs, textbooks, reference books, etc.), which should be arranged in alphabetical order; Internet resources are listed below.

It is not recommended to write in the first person singular: “I think”, “I believe”, “in my opinion”, etc. It is more correct to use the pronoun “we”, because Not only the student, but also the project leader worked on the research.

The work must maintain unity of presentation style and ensure spelling and syntactic literacy in accordance with the norms of the modern Russian language.

The title should be as short as possible, precise and consistent with the main content of the work.

Related information.

Pupils at school or students at college periodically perform various written works. They present various interesting ideas and developments. They turn out to be interesting, meaningful and, of course, it is important that they are properly designed.

This is what teachers pay a lot of attention to. Let's look at how to design a project title page so that it meets the most stringent requirements.

The title page is drawn up according to certain rules.

This is done as follows:

Sample design for a university

The correct design of the cover for a project can be seen in a specific example:

  • State educational institution
  • Higher professional education
  • "Orenburg State University"

This information is located at the top, right in the center, written in size 16 letters. Further:

  • Science project (size 24).
  • In the discipline “Fundamentals of design and construction of electronic equipment. Development of the design of an electronic device" (font 23). Author (bold 16th font): student of group 14 Petrov A.I. Supervisor (bold 16th font): Associate Professor N.N. Sidorov

Sample for school

In general education institutions, students are very often forced to deal with the implementation of projects. This is a very correct approach - having learned to draw up such work at school, students will not experience any difficulties.

Important! The cover does not contain a lot of information; rather, the most important thing here is to correctly place what little sentence space there is, using the right letter size.

A sample project for an eleventh-grader in a regular school looks something like this:

  1. Municipal budgetary educational institution gymnasium No. 9 of the city of Tolyatti (15 mm from the top, 16 point).
  2. Research paper in mathematics (bold, 24, in the very center).
  3. Mathematics: an exact science or a humanities subject? (the title of the work itself, without quotes, periods, 28).
  4. Author (bold, 16): students of grade 11B Ivanova A. (simple, 16). Mathematics teacher: Nikolaeva N.R.
  5. 2018 (bottom, center, 16, no dot).

Environment project

In elementary school, students are increasingly being asked to complete a project on a topic as an additional assignment.

Children willingly take on such a task. Firstly, it’s interesting, and secondly, a good grade is guaranteed.

Of course, the teacher may reduce it somewhat for the correct design of the title page, but children quickly learn to do everything accurately in terms of its design.

It's not difficult at all, you just need to follow these instructions:

Municipal budgetary educational institution

"Secondary school N 27"

city of Chelyabinsk

(top 20 mm from the top, bottom edge, 30 mm on the left, 10 mm on the right - parameters specifically for elementary school, 12-point size).

around the world

"Birds, animals of the Far North"

(the first word is bold, 16, subsequent words are bold, 16).

Completed by: 4th grade student Sergeev A.

Checked by: teacher Nikonova A.K.

(16th point, “performed” and “checked” - bold).

(bottom, center).

The text itself is typed Times New Roman, 14.

Important! In elementary school, the requirements for the design of the title page are not as strict as in high school, so students can use suitable pictures if they wish.

The main cover of the project on the topic My family for an elementary school student is no different from any other work on the world around us. The same indentation and font selection options that are intended for elementary school are used here.

The only thing you need to do is to approach the name of the topic correctly and individually. After all, if the task is given to the whole class, it will not be very good if the name is the same.

Project in English

Designing a title page for work in English is no different from similar actions in Russian:

  1. At the top of the page the name of the educational institution is typed exclusively in English. It is important to do this very carefully and not make mistakes - detailed information can be found on the Internet.
  2. Next comes the name of the faculty itself and the student’s specialty.
  3. Then, right in the center, the words Report on the course (discipline message) are typed, followed by the name of the discipline itself. Then immediately the title of the work. All this is in English and is highlighted in bold, large font.
  4. The lower part is a place for information about the student himself: III year student (3rd year student), JJKK-8 group (student group), Ivanov Stepan (last and first name of the student).

We design the cover of the project

Evaluation of a project or any other work, regardless of the degree of complexity, begins from the moment the teacher sees the title page. It is important to do everything flawlessly competently and correctly - the final grade will largely depend on this.

  • The title page is a separate page, but it does not need to be numbered.
  • Top and bottom margins must be present; their size is 3 cm.
  • The name of the educational institution without abbreviations and acronyms is located at the top, right in the center. If this is a university, then the faculty and department should be indicated. All letters are capital letters.
The name of the educational organization must be clarified, as it may change periodically. It would be very bad if the old name of the educational institution was present on the new project.
  • There is 8 cm between information about the educational institution and the subsequent topic.
  • The type of work and its subject must be indicated. Quotes and the actual word “Subject” are not allowed in the title.
  • In the lower right corner are the surname and initials of the performer, his status, and then the position of the scientific supervisor along with his surname and initials.
  • The year should be indicated at the bottom of the page, and just numbers, without the word “year”.
  • All characters are printed in Times New Roman, 12–14 point. The exception is the topic of the work, for which a larger font is provided.

The cover of a creative project has some features:

  • Done on A4 sheet. Any work is carried out in this format, both in schools and in higher institutions.
  • The margins are standard: left – 20 mm, right – 10 mm, top and bottom – 15 mm each.
  • Line spacing is 1.5.
  • The title page is not numbered. Further numbering is located at the bottom center.
  • In more serious works, the ministry of the country to which the student’s educational institution is affiliated is printed at the top of the page.
  • At the top of the page is the name of the educational institution in font size 16.
  • In the middle is “Creative Project” (24th).
  • Next is the title of the work without the word “Topic”, quotation marks and a period at the end of the sentence. The name is highlighted with the largest point size – 28. It should be succinct, clearly reflect the content, and not include abbreviations.
  • The lower right corner is intended for information about the author and his supervisor.
  • Below is the city and year.

Let's sum it up

Hoping to receive only an excellent grade for your work, you should not neglect the design of the title page. Just as a person is greeted by his clothes, the first impression of a teacher is based on the correctness of his design.

While studying first at school and then at a higher educational institution, pupils and students constantly have to deal with writing assignments of varying degrees of complexity.

Therefore, having remembered certain rules, they will complete the design of the title page for any project without any problems. All these actions will eventually become automatic, and the student will be able to concentrate on the content of the work itself.

When performing project work in social science, you should adhere to generally accepted rules when preparing design, research work or abstracts. The name of the educational institution (school) should be indicated in the upper part of the title page, the topic should be indicated in the middle part, and below - information about those who completed the work (class, surnames and first names of students), surname, first name and patronymic of the head. In the middle of the bottom part is the place and year of the design work (for example, Krasnodar-2014).

Sample title page:

The structure of the project work includes an introduction, main part and conclusion.

1. Introduction. The introduction describes the relevance of the chosen topic (why did you choose this topic? why is this problem so acute in society? how will your project be useful?), the goals and objectives of your project work. The goal sometimes partially coincides with the topic (for example, making a plan for the “Help your neighbor” campaign). To achieve your goal, you need to identify questions that you will find answers to during the process of completing the project work. Formulate these questions in the form of specific tasks (for example, to attract the attention of children, parents and teachers to the problem of homeless animals; to develop activities aimed at helping orphans, etc.). In the introduction, you can also indicate the timing of the project (for example, the timing of the “Help Your Neighbor” campaign is September-December 2014. September-October: making gifts during technology lessons by 6th grade students; November: preparing a concert; December: visiting disabled children at home, giving gifts, invitations to a concert, holding a concert at school).

2. Main part includes a detailed description of your research on the project topic; events that you plan to carry out as part of the project (for example, describe in detail how you will organize a visit to the animal shelter: 1) prepare announcements about collecting funds and useful things for the shelter, place them on stands at the school; 2) organize a collection point for things, collect and sort things; 3) with the help of the class teacher, organize a trip to the shelter; 4) go to the shelter and donate things; 5) interview shelter workers and take photographs; 6) prepare a train report; 7) post the report and photographs on the school website and in the school newspaper). Distribute responsibilities among the students in the class and write them in the main part.

3. Conclusion. In the final part, the expected results of the project are written down and conclusions are drawn. The conclusions must correspond to the goals and objectives of the project (for example: during the project work, a plan for the “Help Your Neighbor” campaign was developed). The number of conclusions should match the number of goals and objectives, or be greater. If there are fewer conclusions than goals and objectives, then it is considered that some task has not been completed.
